Purplematic CBD Strain Information

Purplematic CBD’s lineage consists of Kush Rose Auto CBD x Afghan Rose Auto CBD—two delicious strains in their own right—making it no wonder that Purplematic CBD is such a hit. It lands firmly at the indica end of the scale regarding its genetics, with 90% indica, 5% sativa, and 5% ruderalis.

This strain contains around 10–17% CBD and only trace amounts of THC—around 0.5%. As such, it does not produce an inebriating effect, but instead focuses on more holistic, subtly relaxing effects. And as it is autoflowering and easy to grow, cultivators will have no trouble achieving a high-quality source of CBD-rich buds.

  • Purplematic CBD Flavour and Aroma

The cured buds from this strain emanate sweet and fruity flavours reminiscent of candy. However, some growers report stronger flavours of gasoline underpinning these sweeter notes, while others suggest that there are herbaceous elements to the profile as well. What everyone can agree upon is that this strain is not too pungent and that it is delicious to smoke or vape, or even just to smell in the grow room!

  • Purplematic CBD Effects

Thanks to its high CBD levels and low THC content, Purplematic CBD doesn’t cause a high. Nevertheless, users report feeling more chill after consuming a dose of this herb, with different individuals putting it to a variety of uses. Whether you want to relax in the evening or replace THC-rich strains with something less stoning, then Purplematic CBD can deliver.

Growing Purplematic CBD

Now to the grow report! Being indica dominant and autoflowering, Purplematic CBD is about as robust as they come, and many people who have grown it find that it mostly takes care of itself and still delivers ample yields when harvest time arrives.

  • Germinating Purplematic CBD

The germination phase for Purplematic CBD is typically quick, with seeds sprouting within 2–3 days when placed in a warm, moist environment. For the best results, germinating seeds in their final pots (11 l containers are suggested) in a high-quality growing medium should suffice. Ensure that the growing medium is kept consistently moist, but not waterlogged, and keep temperatures around 20ºC. If germinating in the final pot, it can help to stretch cling film over the pot and pierce a few holes in it, as this maintains the necessary high humidity for germination.

  • Vegetative Phase

Once germinated, Purplematic CBD enters the vegetative phase, which lasts approximately 3–4 weeks, although some grow reports claim that this plant can begin flowering after just two weeks. However, you should expect it to take longer than this. You can employ low-stress training at this point—which can help to expose the lower bud sites to light—and it shouldn’t stress the plant out too much. High-stress training methods are risky with autos and should be avoided unless you're well versed in such techniques.

During this time, the plant focuses on developing strong roots and a robust stem. Given its autoflowering genetics, Purplematic CBD does not rely on specific light cycles to enter the flowering phase, making it easier to manage. However, if you're using LED lights, the veg setting will emit more blue light, which helps young plants to develop more robust root systems. In terms of daily light exposure, 18–24 hours is recommended, with many indoor growers settling on 20 hours per day.

As it’s an autoflowering strain, most growers use ½ to ¼ of the recommended amount of veg nutrients when growing this plant.

  • Flowering Phase & Harvest Time

By the 4th week of growth, Purplematic CBD should transition to flowering, at which point you may witness a small growth spurt. After this point, the plant will stop growing and focus on bud production. As such, it’s best to switch to bloom nutrients, keeping the concentration at around ½ to ¼ of what is recommended on the bottle or packaging.

From this point onwards, the flowers should take 5–8 more weeks to develop to maturity. While some growers report a total grow cycle (including vegetation) of 9 weeks, others claim the strain can take up to 13 weeks. During the latter half of the flowering stage, especially if the plants are kept at cooler temperatures, they can begin to take on the purple colouration that gives the strain its name. However, this is not guaranteed.

Once the trichomes are mostly milky-white, it’s time to harvest the sweet, non-psychoactive buds! Indoors, the strain can yield up to 450 g/m², while outdoors, up to an impressive 150 g/plant is up for grabs.
