Royal Dwarf Strain Information
With its moderate levels of THC, Royal Dwarf offers a clear-headed high that makes it the perfect strain to enjoy in the daytime. On top of that, Royal Dwarf is very compact, grows super fast, and provides a rewarding yield. Our breeders created this small and speedy strain by crossing the legendary Skunk with a high-performing ruderalis variety. As an autoflowering version of Skunk, she inherited the very best traits from this timeless strain but provides a harvest in a fraction of the time. As the progeny of landrace varieties Afghan, Acapulco Gold, and Colombian, Skunk itself boasts a euphoric high alongside pungent flavours and aromas. Royal Dwarf inherited all of these delightful qualities as well as some unique characteristics that set her apart.
Royal Dwarf Autoflower Characteristics
As her name suggests, Royal Dwarf scales everything down, from her stature to her THC content. While some contemporary cannabis users have a preference for super-high THC levels, others enjoy less intense psychoactive experiences. Thankfully, that’s exactly what Royal Dwarf has to offer with its THC content of 13%. Upon smoking its buds, you'll feel suitably elevated yet functional enough to carry on with various tasks. Meanwhile, high concentrations of various terpenes add a relaxing element to the experience, while volatile sulphur compounds provide notes of skunk with every hit.
Whether you’re low on space or want to keep your growing operation as stealthy as possible, Royal Dwarf Autoflower has you covered. Indoors, this strain grows to just 70 cm when left untrained. However, apply LST during the third week of veg, and she won’t grow past 40 cm for the rest of the growing cycle. Outdoors, plants reach 90 cm untrained and just 50 cm when subject to a range of training techniques. Prepare to pull in up to 200 g/m² indoors and 80 g/plant outdoors after a total growing cycle of 9–10 weeks.

Royal Dwarf Auto Flavour and Aroma
The Royal Dwarf cannabis strain serves up a platter of diverse phytochemicals that underpin her rich and complex taste. While many modern cultivars offer a sweet experience, this variety offers a more savoury—yet equally delicious—flavour. It might surprise you to hear this, but terpenes aren’t responsible for the bulk of Royal Dwarf Autoflower’s flavours and aromas. Instead, volatile sulphur compounds (VOCs) play a more central role. Inherited directly from the Skunk strain, these aromatic molecules emit strong notes of skunk, garlic, and gas. However, terpenes including myrcene and beta-caryophyllene provide additional hints of earth, musk, and pepper.

Her THC level of 13% steers the high in an inspiring and motivating direction, even in relatively large doses. The high stays at this altitude for a while, before tapering off into a warm afterglow that’ll leave you feeling soothed and satisfied.

Germinating Royal Dwarf Autoflower Seeds
Equipped with high-quality Skunk genetics, Royal Dwarf seeds boast a high germination rate. You don’t need to take any fancy additional steps when popping these seeds. Simply sow them directly into an 11 l containers filled with a high-quality potting mix enriched with organic matter and some perlite for increased drainage. It’s not mandatory, but adding a pinch of mycorrhizal fungi powder before covering your seeds will inoculate the taproots once they emerge, resulting in improved nutrient uptake and defence against fungal pathogens during this vulnerable stage. Keep your grow lights running for 24 hours per day to prevent leggy stems, and your seedlings will reach a height of 4 cm by the end of the first week. Onward to veg!
-
Vegetative Phase
During the vegetative phase, you can expect your Royal Dwarf plants to start producing plenty of luscious fan leaves, all while remaining compact and stealthy. You can either continue running your lights for 24 hours per day to push development to the max, or switch over to 18 hours per day to reduce your electricity costs. Expect your plants to grow to around 10 cm by the end of week two. Apply training during week three if you’re after more compact plants, and move any plants outside at this point if you want to finish them off under the sun!
Your plants will stand at 30–60 cm at the end of the vegetative phase, depending on the training techniques used and the pot size you opted for. At this point, they’ll have started developing pre-flowers at each node.

Flowering Phase & Harvest
Bloom has arrived! Your Royal Dwarf Autoflower plants will stretch during this time as phytohormone levels change. Expect them to peak at anywhere between 40–90 cm depending on prior training and container size. Over the course of bloom, their flowers will bulge, amassing orange pistils and a heavy sheen of milky-white trichomes. Flush the growing medium during the final two weeks of the growing cycle to force your plants to use up any stored nutrients, potentially resulting in a smoother smoke or vape. After a flowering phase of 6–7 weeks, it’s time to harvest the fruits of your labour!
Cut your plants at the base of the stem just above the soil. Next, hang them upside down in your grow room. Turn off the lights to prevent the active constituents from degrading, and keep a fan running to prevent stagnant air. After 7–10 days, the plants will have dried out nicely. Next, trim your flowers before placing them into curing jars for 4–8 weeks.
