Experienced in the field of plant virology, Landeira has worked as a researcher on multiple projects studying plant resistance, synergistic interactions, and developing detection methods for Begomoviruses. She is currently working in the agriculture sector as a breeding scientist to coordinate research activities to develop novel tomato varieties.
