Gloria Payá is a PhD researcher at the University of Alicante specializing in biochemistry and biotechnology. Her work includes studying gene regulation in extremophiles and stress response mechanisms, with a focus on environmental and health applications.

Gloria Payá is a biologist with a passion for environmental and health biotechnology. Her research journey began during her undergraduate studies, where she contributed to projects developing genetic engineering tools for halophilic microorganisms. Recognized for her academic excellence, Gloria received the Master’s Excellence Award from the University of Alicante, Spain.
Recently, she obtained her doctoral degree with distinction cum laude in the Department of Agrochemistry and Biochemistry, studying the molecular mechanisms that regulate nitrogen metabolism and stress responses in extremophilic microorganisms. Her findings have been published in prestigious scientific journals and shared at national and international conferences, displaying her contributions to molecular biology and environmental biotechnology.
