CBD Oil Tomato Vinaigrette
CBD infused oil is the perfect base for a refreshing tomato vinaigrette. Try our recipe here. It can be used on salads, meats, and as a delicious flavoring.
Cannabis and olive oil are wonderful companions. Cannabinoids can be easily extracted into the oil, which can then be used for a variety of recipes.
Infusing olive oil with CBD or THC is done via the same process. The difference in cannabinoid content depends on the type of strain one uses, as well as what they are using it for.
MAKING CBD INFUSED OIL
This is a first step no matter what cannabis recipe you plan to make.
Making cannabis infused oil is very easy. First, you must decarboxylate the cannabis. This is true whether you choose to use CBD, THC, or a mix of both. This process will make the cannabinoids “active” and bioavailable.
The following process is definitely on the slower side, so if you’re feeling impatient, consider this quick cannabis infused oil recipe to get the good stuff in no time. The process below, however, is ideal for oils with a low temperature threshold. Olive oil is a perfect example.
Just grind up the cannabis and spread it out on a baking sheet. Then, place this in the oven for 40 minutes. Afterward, add your “decarbed” cannabis to your oil. Wait a few weeks.
Easy. What you do from there is limited only by your imagination.
THE STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS
The great thing about infusing oil this way is that you do not have to stand over a hot stove for hours. All you have to do is decarboxylate the cannabis and infuse.
Ingredients
- 1.1 oz of cannabis
- 3½-4 cups (0.8-1 litre) olive oil
- Baking sheet
- Grinder
- Sieve and cheesecloth
- Glass infusing bottle or jar
Instructions
Decarboxylating the cannabis is the first and most important step. Grind and arrange it in an even, shallow layer on the baking sheet. Now it’s time to bake at 110°C for 40 minutes. It is so important not to overcook the cannabis. If this occurs, the cannabinoids you once wished to optimise will begin to start degrading.
Not a good outcome.
Once the cannabis is done decarbing, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Then pour the oil and the cannabis into an airtight glass jar.
Put this in a dark place for the next several weeks. The oil should be looking greener and cloudy.
Once it has reached the end of this process, strain the oil through both the sieve and the cheesecloth to remove all the impurities and plant particulates.
You now have delicious, cannabinoid infused oil.
