Medusa F1 Strain Information
With true F1 genetics, the release of Medusa F1 by RQS made serious waves across the cannabis community. Like the rest of our F1 hybrid seeds, Medusa F1 descends from proper inbred lines and delivers true hybrid vigour indoors, outdoors, or in greenhouses. Derived from Sugar Magnolia and American Beauty parent lines, these seeds quickly grow into stocky, bushy plants that deliver heavy harvests of dense, delicious flowers.
What sets F1 hybrids apart from regular strains is, of course, their stellar genetics. For years, breeders at RQS have been hard at work creating the inbred lines (IBLs) that gave rise to Medusa F1—a process that focuses on refining the genetic information of two distinct varieties so that, when they're crossed, they produce an exceptionally stable and vigorous round of offspring. Thanks to the hard work of our breeders, Medusa F1 seeds boast the genetic stability of clones, producing plants with the same stature, structure, and chemical profile—time and time again. For the first time ever, cannabis growers the world over can reap the rewards of real, commercial F1 hybrids.
Medusa F1 Characteristics
Get your hands on Medusa F1 seeds if you want to take the guesswork out of your next grow. Thanks to their true F1 genetics, these seeds produce virtually identical plants every time. Forget about popping 10 seeds and having to care for 10 plants individually—with Medusa F1 seeds, you'll be growing plants with the same stature and flowering time, allowing you to streamline your entire growing process.
Medusa F1 plants consistently grow to 60–90 cm tall, depending on the size of their containers and their growing conditions. The plants preserve a bushy indica structure, developing a towering central stem and several side branches that are all loaded with juicy flowers come harvest time. Medusa F1 needs just 40–45 days of bloom time to mature properly and can get the chop just 70–75 days after germination. At this point, she'll reward you with XXL harvests of dense buds loaded with THC and delicious terps. Like all RQS F1 hybrids to date, Medusa F1 is autoflowering.

Medusa F1 Flavor & Aroma
Like her predecessors, Medusa F1 produces a sticky layer of highly aromatic resin. From their earliest days in flower, your Medusa F1 plants will begin to smell of sweet, ripe fruit and fresh herbs. After drying and curing, their aromas will intensify and become more complex, taking on notes of sweet berries, tangy fuel, spicy black pepper, and fresh mint—a real delight! Whether you vape, smoke, or ingest her, Medusa F1 boasts similarly fruity, gassy, spicy, and herbal flavors, though with notable earthy undertones.
Medusa F1 gets her unique aromas chiefly from a complex mix of terpenes. Her resin is particularly rich in farnesene, myrcene, and ocimene—terpenes that aren't too common in other strains. Besides contributing to Medusa F1's bold aromas and flavors, these compounds may also contribute to her potent effects

Medusa F1 Effects
Medusa F1 is a high-THC cultivar with enough potency to please even veteran cannabis connoisseurs. Light her up in a joint, blunt, bong, or vape, and within minutes of your first toke, you'll be able to sense the early effects of her strong stone.
At first, you may experience an uplifting cerebral effect that elevates your mood and leaves you chatty, happy, and even creative. Soon after, however, you'll get hit with a creeping body stone that starts right behind the eyes and slowly reaches into the rest of your body and up through every extremity. Enjoy this variety alone or in company—just be sure to clear your schedule, because you won't be doing much other than kicking up your feet and having a good time.
Growing Medusa F1
If you've never grown a true F1 hybrid before, get ready—you're in for a real treat. Medusa F1 seeds are hardy and super vigorous, making the entire cultivation process a breeze—from the moment you pop your seeds, right down to when you cut down your plants at harvest time.
Thanks to their stable traits and strength, Medusa F1 plants make an excellent addition to indoor and outdoor gardens, as well as greenhouses. Plus, given their resilience, they can perform just as well in the hands of a rookie grower as in those of a seasoned expert.

Germinating Medusa F1
Since Medusa F1 is autoflowering, remember to sow your seeds directly in their final pots to avoid transplant stress. Some growers opt to soak their seeds in water for 12–24 hours before planting them, but this isn't strictly necessary.
Once you've planted your Medusa F1 seeds, keep them in a warm and humid place. The ideal conditions for seedlings are a temperature of 25°C and relative humidity levels of 50–70%. Remember to keep the soil in your pots moist but never soaked. The minute your seeds pop out of the soil, be sure to get them under a good light source to minimise stretching and maximise their growth from day one.
-
Vegetative Phase
Medusa F1 plants will grow for roughly 30–35 days before transitioning into their bloom phase. To maximise their growth during this time, it's vital you minimise their exposure to stress while giving them the best possible growing conditions. As she veges, Medusa F1 quickly develops deep green foliage, a thick central stem, and several strong side branches.
Roughly half-way through their vegetative phase, it's a good idea to defoliate the lower sections of your Medusa F1 plants, allowing light to penetrate properly into her canopy. Some growers also like to use LST early on to open up these bushy plants and ensure light reaches all of their important bud sites.
After their first week in veg, Medusa F1 plants typically measure 8–10 cm. From there, they'll usually grow around 10 cm per week, reaching average heights of 30–40 cm by the end of their veg cycle (depending on how they are cultivated). Healthy vegging Medusa F1 plants will have dark green foliage with large fan leaves, a strong central stem, and multiple side branches.

Flowering Phase and Harvest
Once in bloom, Medusa F1 plants typically stretch to max heights of 60–90 cm, depending on the size of their pots and growing conditions. To maximise the health of their flowers, keep the humidity in your grow space below 40% and switch from grow fertiliser to a proper, preferably organic, bloom booster.
Medusa F1 flowers grow long and dense and can easily trap moisture, so besides carefully monitoring the humidity levels in your space, use proper ventilation and consider defoliating your plants early in bloom to create a well-aerated canopy.
Medusa F1's entire flowering cycle typically lasts 40–45 days, and you can expect to give your plants the chop just 70–75 days after germination. Thanks to their unique terpenes, fresh Medusa F1 plants smell fruity and herbal, then develop gassy and spicy notes as they dry and cure.
Medusa F1 Parent Strains
Wondering where Medusa F1 gets her excellent traits from? Well, part of it has to do with her exceptional parents. Check them out below—who knows, you might just want to chase them down and try growing them yourself!
- Sugar Magnolia: A boutique strain if ever there was one, Sugar Magnolia is enjoyed by many a well-informed smoker. Its origins, however, are super unclear. Rumoured to also be known as Deadhead OG, some sources claim that Sugar Magnolia was bred in SoCal by Mother Chucker's Seeds. Typically rich in pinene, myrcene, caryophyllene, limonene, and ocimene, Sugar Magnolia delivers earthy-pine aromas and flavors, as well as a relaxing yet uplifting high.
- American Beauty: Another hard-to-come-by cultivar, American Beauty was apparently created by Dr Underground. Indica dominant and packed with tropical fruit aromas brought on by high concentrations of myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene, American Beauty is said to deliver a relaxing and happy high that's perfect for moments of relaxation.
Note that Medusa F1 stems from inbred Sugar Magnolia and American Beauty lines. While our breeders may have started out using cuts of both of these strains, they then subjected the plants to vigorous inbreeding techniques that essentially limit their genetic information so the plants only preserve their best traits. The entire inbreeding process can take several years, as our breeders need to ensure the plants they are working with have sufficiently stable genetics to produce a great F1.
