Top 5 High-CBD Strains
RQS loves CBD, and we know you do too! That's why we've compiled a list of our top 5 high-CBD strains for you to check out and grow in 2024.
CBD is more embedded within mainstream culture than ever, and thus, demands for CBD-rich products have increased. So too have demands for higher CBD levels! No longer is a CBD content of 5% considered “high”, which, indeed, it once was. Always ahead of the pack, the breeding team at RQS have spent the last few years hard at work developing strains with industry-leading CBD concentrations and diverse CBD:THC ratios.
Here are RQS’ top 5 CBD-rich strains by percentage!
1. Solomatic CBD
What better strain to kick off our list than Solomatic CBD? This is a true titan amongst CBD strains, providing up to 21% CBD and only around 1% THC. Derived from parent strains Diesel CBD Auto and Asia CBD Auto, Solomatic CBD is a 20% sativa, 70% indica, and 10% ruderalis hybrid.
This industrious autoflower has a pleasing and subtle aroma that is both satisfying and familiar. With a fruity taste accented by tinges of earth, wood, and flecks of ginger, the strain will suit all those seeking a high-CBD, low-THC strain with superb flavor.

2. Purplematic CBD
Delivering a respectably high CBD content of 17% and a low THC content of 0.5%, Purplematic CBD is another popular choice amongst CBD enthusiasts. Conceived by crossing Kush Rose CBD and Afghan Rose CBD, its genetic makeup features 5% sativa, 90% indica, and 5% ruderalis.
Not only purple in namesake, Purplematic CBD will also develop flowers with satisfying violet hues. You can also expect a flavorful and aromatic experience with this strain. A sweet and fruity taste is the only way to enhance an already special cultivar. Purplematic CBD is certainly a go-to for those looking for a mellow, non-psychoactive, and easy-going strain that can be smoked, vaped, or used in edibles.

3. Joanne's CBD
Next up is Joanne’s CBD. With a solid offering of 15% CBD and roughly 0.75% THC, Joanne’s CBD is a hybrid combination of Session and Juanita la Lagrimosa. A 50/50 blend of sativa and indica, Juanita la Lagrimosa is an award-winning strain that’s often regarded as one of the first strains to reach a CBD content of 15%.
Joanne’s CBD is already a firm favorite among those who have been lucky enough to try her. The strain brings its famed parent strains into the new millennium with renewed fierceness and flavor! Joanne's CBD develops a sweet orange citrus taste with a scent that is just as pleasing.

4. Tatanka Pure CBD
Named after Tatanka Iyotake, also known as “Sitting Bull”, Tatanka Pure CBD was created by crossbreeding Elixir Vitae and Medical CBD. This strain boasts a CBD level of 14% and around 0.25% THC. This is one indica-heavy strain at 70% indica and 30% sativa. It is certainly aimed at those looking for something to smoke throughout the day without any cognitive impairment.
Tatanka Pure CBD has an aroma and flavor that, while being a little different, is sure to impress those looking for something unique. The aroma is a combination of sweet caramel and bitter notes, with a flavor profile defined by rich, spicy flavors with an undertone of sweetness. This is definitely a high-CBD strain connoisseurs will not want to miss out on.

5. Royal Highness
Last on our list, but by no means least, is Royal Highness. This is (at least) the second strain featured with ties to the famed Juanita la Lagrimosa—and for good reason. Royal Highness is a combination of Respect (which itself is a cross of Cannalope Haze and Juanita la Lagrimosa) and Dance Hall. This strain offers a substantial amount of CBD, as well as 14% THC.
Royal Highness has an indica structure, but offers a sativa effect, making for a pleasant and satisfyingly clean high. Royal Highness also doesn’t skimp on flavor; its fruity and slightly skunky taste is quite moreish. Couple this with a sweet Haze aroma, and there is little to convince you that Royal Highness is not the high-CBD strain you’re looking for.
